Our Objectives

The main purpose of Unity in Ethiopia Down Syndrome And Family Association

Advocacy

To protect the dignity of human rights by being a voice for the children born with mental retardation who have no voice and cannot enforce their rights.

EMERGENCY CARE

Helping the children who are isolated from the society due to the limited understanding of their mental development and are trapped in their homes to join the society.

Special Needs

To increase access to vocational training and to ensure that the children's right to formal and vocational education is respected through special needs-based teaching methods by trained teachers.

Social Benefits

Working with governmental and non-governmental institutions so that children with mental retardation can get the social and economic benefits they deserve (education, health, housing, transportation services, etc.

Awareness Creation

Increasing the society's awareness through various outreach methods and professional training and allowing to enter a boarding school where they can receive education and training including health.

Game zone

Children with limited mental development should have access to comfortable play and entertainment areas and they can participate with their talents.

Fundraising

We gathering voluntary contributions of money or other resources carried out by our associations in order to implement our projects.

Awareness Creation

We facilitate awareness creation environment for community and families regarding down syndrome 

COUNSELING

We guide our family member with professionals on special needs from different institutions

Emergency Care

By cooperation with governmental and NGO, we facilitate emergency care and first Aid

Seminar & Workshop

We deliver seminar and workshops regarding down syndrome for society and families with down syndrome child.

Short Training

In the future, we will start short training on first Aid, speech therapy and on handling down syndrome childrens.
